From the 15th of December, 2017 until 30th May, 2018, there will be a temporary exhibition at the Centre for Interpretation and Promotion of Vinho Verde entitled Historical Houses - Wines of Excellence: Paços Farm and Captain Major Manor (Casa do Capitão-mor).
The highlight of the exhibition will be the wines produced for more than 500 years at Paços Farm, located in Barcelos, and at the Captain Major Manor House (Casa do Capitão-mor), in Monção, and which have been awarded several prizes of great prestige since 1877, when Paços Farm wine received one of its first international awards in Philadelphia attributed to wines from the Vinhos Verdes Region.
Currently, both family and properties are represented by Maria do Carmo Azevedo da Fonseca Matos Graça and by José Bento da Silva Ramos.
It shall be the first edition of a series of exhibitions aimed at promoting the houses and farms whose history have always been linked to the production of Vinho Verde of excellence.
The inauguration, which will take place on December 15, 2017, at 6:00 p.m., at the Centre for Interpretation and Promotion of Vinho Verde will culminate with a taste test.
