Investigating, disseminating and sharing the Wine Culture are the main guidelines of a memorandum signed between the Municipality of Ponte de Lima and the Vivanco Foundation of Spain.

The signing took place on the 12th of April 12 at the Noble Hall of the City Hall of Ponte de Lima. The memorandum reflects the intentions that the Vivanco Foundation for the Culture of Wine and the Municipality of Ponte de Lima have in common, represented by Santiago Vivanco Sáenz and the President of the Municipality, Victor Mendes, respectively.

The Vivanco Foundation for the Culture of Wine, has the largest wine museum in Spain, of about 4 000 m2 and has five permanent exhibition rooms, including the world's largest exhibition of corkscrews.
About Vivanco, Santiago Vivanco said that it is a family business, which preserves the tradition of wine production "everything we are [Vivanco family], we owe to wine", "we want to give back to wine, what it gave us” added Rafael Vivanco.

On the other hand, the Municipality of Ponte de Lima, in partnership with the Viticulture Commission of the Vinho Verde Region, promoted the opening of the CIPVV – Center for Interpretation and Promotion of Vinho Verde, an important structure for research, promotion and sharing of the Vinho Verde Culture.

The Mayor of Ponte de Lima recalls that the CIPVV is "a very important and unique structure for the region". "We intend to establish contacts and partnerships with similar institutions, with the aim of promoting our region, our wine," he said.

Santiago Vivanco, for his part, appreciates the possibility of formalizing the aforementioned memorandum, hoping to find numerous forms of mutual collaboration in the sense of promoting and disseminating this wine heritage in the Iberian Peninsula.

This meeting could not have ended in any other way, but by visiting the CIPVV with the signing of the Book of Honor by Santiago Vivanco and a toast with the magnificent Vinho Verde Loureiro of Ponte de Lima.
