The Municipality of Ponte de Lima and its Centre for the Interpretation and Promotion of Vinho Verde is part of an international selection of nominees for the Iter Vitis Award 2018, intended to distinguish local initiatives and actions centred on the endorsement and promotion of local wines and wine heritage as well as wine tourism associated to local, economic development.

The foreseen actions writ within the candidature presented by the Municipality of Ponte de Lima aim essentially at the promotion of Ponte de Lima as a Wine Tourism destination; by developing a wide range of actions of promotion and marketing of Vinho Verde which focuses primarily on the Loureiro wine variety, it also expounds on the quality and nobility of the wine as a patrimonial and identifying product of the Lima Valley, thus betting on a local brand of great value.

The winners' announcement ceremony and the award ceremony will take place on 6 December at the headquarters of Occitane Europe in Brussels.
