CERTIFICATION OF VINHO VERDE WINES

The CVRVV – The Viticulture Commission of the Vinho Verde Region, established in 1926, controls and certifies the product through its laboratories thereby ascribing the appropriate seal of guarantee.

The CVRVV endorses various experiments through the Amândio Galhano Wine Station, located in Arcos de Valdevez.

Main areas of experimentation, research and innovation:

1. Clonal selection of recommended varieties of the demarcated region of Vinho Verde.

2. New vine trellising systems.

3. Studies on rootstocks.

4. Nutrition and fertilization of vineyards.

5. Installation of vines on slopes and the study of phenology and cultural adaptation of regional varieties.

6. Experiments associated with the oenological component through micro-vinification in experimental cellars.

7. Yeast studies and the influence of technology on the stability of the color of red wine.

8. Production of vines that have budded, according to the most modern techniques of production of those that are graft-ready.
